Measured from 221 distinct advertised hourly rates, across 53 employers. 821 of these 1,195 openings give no hourly figure.

Robots, humanoids, self-driving cars and drones learn from people: the ones who pilot them, record what they should do and check how they do it. 1,195 of those jobs are open right now at 99 employers, including TSMG, Tesla, Amazon Prime Air and Avride, read from each employer's job board every day.

Robot Teleoperation

81 open

Remotely pilot a physical robot, through a VR headset, a leader-follower arm, a joystick, or a haptic rig, so its motions become training demonstrations, or step in to guide an autonomous robot when it stalls. This is one entry point into robot training: humanoid labs run teleoperation shifts around the clock, and gaming or VR familiarity often matters more than a degree.

Data & Demonstration Collection

132 open

Produce the physical demonstrations a robot learns from directly: teleoperated demos, kinesthetic teaching (guiding the robot's arms by hand), bimanual ALOHA-style rigs, and provided-hardware capture. On-site studio operators are the backbone of every humanoid data engine, and the work needs dexterity and consistency rather than a technical background.

Egocentric & Wearable Capture

139 open

Record yourself doing everyday physical tasks from a first-person view, on smart glasses, a head-mounted phone, or a wrist camera, so robots can learn from human video at scale. Some projects accept remote contributors with specified capture hardware; eligibility depends on the project.

See all 139 egocentric & wearable capture roles →

Embodied-AI Data Annotation

14 open

Label the data robots perceive the world through: 3D bounding boxes in LiDAR point clouds, sensor-fusion and segmentation, and action, affordance, and trajectory labels on egocentric and robot video. Still the most accessible remote entry point, but geography-priced: the same task pays a US floor and an offshore fraction of it, and the simplest labeling is compressing as auto-labeling improves.

Robot Fleet Operations

276 open

Keep deployed robots running in the real world: remotely monitor and teleassist delivery and service robots when they get stuck, and work on-street as an attendant who retrieves, resets, and recharges units. Interventions may supply edge cases for further evaluation and training, and the work splits between remote-from-home monitoring and in-city on-site shifts.

AV & Drone Operators

545 open

Operate autonomous vehicles and drones as a human in the loop: in-vehicle safety drivers and remote AV operators who monitor, intervene, and generate the edge-case data self-driving systems train on, and Part 107 drone pilots flying data-collection missions. A large, established on-ramp into embodied-AI work with test fleets hiring in specific cities.

Before you apply

Check whether a role pays for your time or only for footage that passes review, whether it is on site and on which shift, and what equipment you must own. Applying costs nothing, and no real employer will ask you to pay.

Physical AI jobs by kind of work

Each kind of work trains or checks robots in a different way. The count is the roles open today in every country; each links to that work's pay and employers.

Frequently asked questions

What are physical AI jobs?

Physical AI is AI that acts in the physical world: humanoid robots, robot arms, self-driving cars and trucks, delivery robots and drones. It learns from people, so its hands-on jobs are about showing and checking it: piloting or teleoperating robots, recording demonstrations and first-person video of everyday tasks, test driving autonomous vehicles, watching over fleets and flying drones. 1,195 of these jobs are open today at 99 employers, each read from the employer's own job board. Engineering and research roles at the same companies are posted on their own career pages, linked from each employer's page here.

Do you need a degree for a physical AI job?

Usually not for the hands-on roles. Of the 938 open postings whose requirements we read, 32 require a college degree outright, and 237 say they train you or need no experience. Employers ask instead for reliability over a long shift, comfort with hardware, VR or a phone on a head strap, and for driving roles a clean licence. The entry-level page lists the roles a beginner can apply to.

Can you do physical AI work remotely?

Some of it. 78 of the 1,195 open roles are listed as remote, most of them recording first-person video of your own tasks at home or reviewing robot video. Piloting a robot, test driving and fleet work are done on site, at a lab, a depot or a customer's building, even when you control the robot through a headset.

How much do physical AI jobs pay?

Typical advertised pay in today's postings runs $20 to $45 an hour, with a median of $25. The highest posted rate is $120 an hour (Alignerr). Rates are set by country and by kind of work, and work paid per approved hour of video pays only for footage that passes review. Advertised pay is not guaranteed earnings.

Are there physical AI jobs in India, Germany or the UK?

Yes, though most roles are in the United States. Today 746 accept applicants in the United States, 13 accept applicants in India, 79 accept applicants in Germany, 74 accept applicants in the United Kingdom. Choose your country on this page to see only the roles open to you; remote recording programs that take sign-ups from many countries are listed on the filming page.
