About Perle
Perle recruits individual contributors to capture hands-free first-person (egocentric) video of everyday activities, household tasks, and on-the-job routines using a lightweight headstrap-mounted phone, to train embodied AI and robotics. Per its posting: 'you wear a headstrap with your phone, press record, and go about your day.' It runs the role as an ongoing, multi-region program and pays for every hour of accepted footage.

Is Perle legit?
Researched October 2026 · 22 sourcesYes. Perle, Inc. is a real company backed by $17.5 million, and its egocentric video role is a contractor job on its own Rippling board that pays for every hour of accepted footage. No rate is published before you apply (pay varies by region), only accepted footage is paid, and Perle's separate Perle Labs app pays in a volatile crypto token, not cash. It pays Paid per accepted hour of footage.
Actively listing 3 open roles todayPerle, Inc. (perle.ai) is led by Ahmed Rashad, who previously worked at Scale AI. It sells AI training data labeled by experts and claims 49,000 vetted experts across 70 countries. CoinFund led its $8.5 million pre-seed in October 2024, and Framework Ventures led a $9 million seed in August 2025. Its contributor app, Perle Labs (perle.xyz), runs on Solana; the PRL token went live on March 25, 2026 under a separate Perle Foundation.
Its egocentric video role, a contractor (1099) job on Rippling, pays for every hour of accepted footage at a rate that varies by region; Perle's other hired roles pay per task, minute or hour. The open Perle Labs app pays points per verified task, which became PRL tokens for eligible wallets.
Simple record-your-day work; pay varies by region and is per accepted hour.

Remote, in the countries each posting lists. Its egocentric video postings on October 6, 2026 covered the United States, Canada, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Argentina; Malaysia and Indonesia; and Egypt.
Bogus claim sites appeared at launch: claim.perle.sbs, registered two days after PRL debuted, is flagged as a fake airdrop that drains wallets. The genuine addresses are perle.ai, perle.xyz and app.perle.xyz, plus the X accounts @PerleLabs and @PerleFDN. Perle says to ignore DMs and 'support' accounts that offer PRL, and to treat any airdrop outside its own sites as suspicious.
What people praise
- Perle provides a budget to buy the headstrap its egocentric video role needs, so the equipment is covered.
- There are no fixed shifts: you record your own routines at home or at work, and Perle prefers about 10 hours of footage a week.
- Expert roles at Perle open with a short paid trial in your own field, and Perle says each expert has a proper employee or contractor agreement instead of bidding on tasks.
What people complain about
- The egocentric video postings publish no rate: they say only that pay is competitive and varies by region.
- Some Perle Labs contributors finished tasks and were still labeled 'Not Eligible' for the PRL airdrop; others who first appeared eligible lost that status when Perle changed its filters.
- To catch bots, Perle Labs inspects your IP address, browser, device and VPN signals, and Perle concedes these checks can wrongly flag real users and stop them verifying.
- Every Perle Labs task is confirmed on-chain and needs a little SOL in your wallet, so network fees come out of your pocket before any earnings arrive.
What has gone wrong
- March 2026. Ahead of the March 25 token launch, many contributors holding earned points learned they did not qualify for the airdrop. Perle's CEO acknowledged that some genuine participants had been flagged by mistake; their cases went back for review through an appeal form, and Perle said successful appeals would receive allocations at launch.
- April 2026. About 90 million PRL went from the foundation's wallet to five wallets that sold around the listing announcement, and Upbit held back PRL trading as a result. Perle's explanation was that these were ecosystem tokens sold inside its disclosed schedule; after a review, Upbit proceeded with the listing.
- August 2026. PRL hit a high of about $0.47 on August 19, 2026 and slid to roughly $0.10 by September 15, close to a 78% fall. On October 10, 2026 it was trading at $0.11, meaning tokens earned around the peak had lost most of their worth.
Best for: People 18 or older in a country its egocentric video postings list, with an iPhone 11, Pixel 6, Galaxy S21 or newer, who are happy to film their own daily routines from a head-mounted phone. Not for: Anyone who needs a published hourly rate before starting, is not comfortable filming their home or workplace, or wants cash rather than tokens from the Perle Labs app.
Honest catches
- Pay here is stated by the employer, not measured live from a job feed, so treat it as a benchmark rather than a guaranteed rate.
