Robot training jobs: what people ask first
How we find and check every job →What does a robot training job involve?
Robots learn from people. In these jobs you steer a robot arm or humanoid through a VR headset so the motion is recorded, act out a task by hand while sensors capture it, film chores from a head-mounted camera, tag objects in robot camera footage, run a robot through test tasks and grade the result, keep a deployed fleet charged and working, or ride along as the safety operator in a self-driving car or drone program. Today 737 robot training jobs are listed: 468 are for operators of robots, vehicles or drones, and AV & Drone leads with 351, ahead of Egocentric Capture (121) and Fleet Operations (99). Employers mostly want patience and consistency, not a robotics degree. Driving roles also need a clean license, and drone roles an FAA Part 107 certificate.
Browse 468 operator openingsWhat do robot training jobs pay per hour?
Most postings sit between $20 and $40 an hour. The median posting offers $25/hr, based on 92 distinct advertised rates from 26 employers among the 737 jobs listed today. Vehicle test drivers and senior robot operators earn the most per hour. Recording programs you do from home tend to pay per approved minute of footage or per task instead, and the rate can change with the country you live in. Another 634 listings name no rate, so these figures only cover postings that do.
How do people get hired to train robots?
Pick an employer (a humanoid or robot-arm lab, an autonomous vehicle or drone company, or a footage-collection program), apply, and get through its screen, which can be an interview, a test shift or a short qualification task. Pay then comes per hour, per shift or per approved task. RobotTraining.jobs reads the job boards of the 91 employers that publish one, keeps pay notes on all 109 it follows, and links each opening straight to the employer's application.
Can I start without robotics experience?
In most cases, yes. Teleoperation, demonstration, recording and labeling jobs look for people who stay focused for a whole shift and are comfortable with gadgets or software; a degree is rarely asked for. The exceptions: driving jobs want a clean license, drone jobs an FAA Part 107 certificate, and the more technical test roles some hands-on engineering background.
Robotics jobs open to beginnersCan I train robots from outside the United States?
Often you can. 48% of today's 737 listings are limited to the US, 4% can be done remotely, and 0% set no country rule. Robots mostly live in labs, warehouses and test cities, so a lot of the work is on site, but home recording programs and labeling projects recruit across many countries. Set the country filter to yours to see what you can apply for.
Remote robot openings, by countryAre these robot training employers real?
They are. Every company here is an actual robot lab, autonomous vehicle or drone business, or footage-collection program with people on its payroll or contract. They differ a lot on rates, hours and how dependable the work is, which is why each employer's page sets out its pay, how and when it pays, and what people who worked there say.
Some links here are referral links: when you join an employer through one, RobotTraining.jobs may receive a commission. It costs you nothing, and the employer pays you exactly the same.
