What the data shows
- 1
Data & Demonstration Collection led on apply clicks with 163 of 470 (34.7%), ahead of Egocentric & Wearable Capture (27.7%) and Embodied-AI Data Annotation (15.5%).
- 2
Embodied-AI Data Annotation saw the strongest interest per open role, at 1.51 apply clicks a week (13.27x the average role). Robot Task Evaluation & QA saw the weakest, at 0.02 a week (0.21x).
- 3
Data & Demonstration Collection drew 34.7% of apply clicks from 9.7% of open-role time. AV & Drone Operators was the reverse: 47.8% of open-role time, yet just 10.0% of clicks.
- 5
97.7% of apply clicks went to the 10% of open roles that got the most, and 89.2% of the 1,348 roles open in the window got none at all.
Figure 1
Apply clicks for each kind of work
Which kinds of robot training work are people clicking Apply on?
| Kind of work | Apply clicks | Share of clicks | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Data & Demonstration Collection | 163 | 34.7% | 28 |
| Egocentric & Wearable Capture | 130 | 27.7% | 27 |
| Embodied-AI Data Annotation | 73 | 15.5% | 17 |

| Robot Fleet Operations | 35 | 7.4% | 28 |
| Robot Teleoperation | 21 | 4.5% | 8 |
| Robot Task Evaluation & QA | 1 | 0.2% | 1 |
Base: 470 apply clicks aimed at one particular role, from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Oct 2026.
Another 134 clicks led to an employer's general sign-up page instead of a single role. Those have no kind of work attached and are left out here.
Roles applied to counts each role once if it got one or more of these clicks.

Competition per opening across kinds of work
Where do too many people chase too few roles, and where are applicants scarce?
| Kind of work | Weekly clicks per open role | Index | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Embodied-AI Data Annotation | 1.51 | 13.27x | 73 | 11 | 15.5% | 1.2% |

| AV & Drone Operators | 0.02 | 0.21x | 47 | 444 | 10.0% | 47.8% |
| Robot Task Evaluation & QA | 0.02 | 0.21x | 1 | 10 | 0.2% | 1.0% |
Base: 1,348 roles that were open at any time from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Oct 2026, and the 470 apply clicks they received.
Weekly clicks per open role is apply clicks divided by (open days of the kind's roles / 7). It tracks how contested each opening is, not how big the market is, so a kind with few roles and steady interest scores high.
The index sets each kind's rate against the rate for all open roles, so 2.00x is double the interest an average role gets. Click share is the kind's portion of all role clicks; open-time share is its portion of all open role-days.
A row with under 22.2 open role-days (3.2 role-weeks) carries a small-sample mark and is left unranked: under that, the pooled rate of the kinds of work says more than the row's own clicks do (a weight fitted on those clicks).

Figure 3
Competition per opening, by hourly rate offered
Does a better hourly rate pull in more applicants?
| Advertised pay | Weekly clicks per open role | Index | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Under $20/hr | 1.01 | 8.85x | 83 | 19 |
| $20 to $40/hr | 0.18 | 1.59x | 148 | 184 |
| $40 to $60/hr | 0.39 | 3.41x | 13 | 8 |
| $60 to $100/hr | 0.66 | 5.75x | 23 | 8 |
| $100/hr or more | 0.00 | 0.00x | 0 | 1 |
| No hourly rate stated | 0.06 | 0.56x | 203 | 711 |
Base: 470 apply clicks aimed at one particular role, from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Oct 2026.
Pay means the hourly rate in the posting, or the midpoint when a range is given. Roles paid by the task or by the project, with no hourly number, sit under 'No hourly rate stated'.
A row with under 21.1 open role-days (3 role-weeks) carries a small-sample mark and is left unranked: under that, the pooled rate of the pay bands says more than the row's own clicks do (a weight fitted on those clicks).

Figure 4
Competition per opening, by listing age
How fast do applicants lose interest once a role is posted?
| Listed for | Weekly clicks per open role | Index | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First 7 days | 0.53 | 4.64x | 76 | 32 |
| 7 to 30 days | 0.26 | 2.30x | 103 | 89 |
| 30 to 90 days | 0.05 | 0.43x | 45 | 206 |
| More than 90 days | 0.03 | 0.24x | 61 | 495 |
| Listing date unknown | 0.39 | 3.39x | 185 | 108 |
Base: 470 apply clicks aimed at one particular role, from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Oct 2026. Each role's open days are divided among the age bands it moved through.
Age counts from the posting date on the employer's job board, or from the role's first day in the feed when no date is given. Undated roles that arrived with an employer's back catalogue sit under 'Listing date unknown'.
The default sort on RobotTraining.jobs puts recently listed roles near the top, which lifts the first-week number.
A row with under 41 open role-days (5.9 role-weeks) carries a small-sample mark and is left unranked: under that, the pooled rate of the listing ages says more than the row's own clicks do (a weight fitted on those clicks).

Figure 5
Competition per opening, by who may apply
Do worldwide roles get more applicant interest than roles restricted to certain countries?
| Location rule | Weekly clicks per open role | Index | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Open worldwide | 9.28 | 81.31x | 179 | 4 |
| Only listed countries | 0.07 | 0.62x | 291 | 925 |
| No rule statedSmall sample | 0.00 | 0.00x | 0 | 0 |
Base: 470 apply clicks aimed at one particular role, from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Oct 2026.
On RobotTraining.jobs, visitors see roles open in their own country first, and roles their country is barred from stay hidden unless they switch to another country. Roles limited to listed countries therefore reach fewer visitors.
A row with under 1.5 open role-days (0.2 role-weeks) carries a small-sample mark and is left unranked: under that, the pooled rate of the location rules says more than the row's own clicks do (a weight fitted on those clicks).

Figure 6
How concentrated applicant attention is
Is applicant attention shared widely, or does a handful of roles soak it up?
| Roles | Share of apply clicks | |
|---|---|---|
| Most-clicked 1% of roles | 14 | 52.6% |
| Most-clicked 5% | 68 | 83.4% |
| Most-clicked 10% | 135 | 97.7% |
| Most-clicked 20% | 270 | 100.0% |
Base: 1,348 roles open at any time from 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Oct 2026, sorted by how many of the 470 apply clicks each got. Roles with zero clicks stay in the ranking.
146 of these roles (10.8%) got one or more apply clicks.

Figure 7
Apply clicks per week
Are people clicking Apply more often or less often as the weeks go by?
| Week | Apply clicks | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 4 OctPartial week | 84 | 21 |
| 5 to 11 Oct | 131 | 19 |
| 12 to 18 Oct | 46 | 7 |
| 19 to 25 Oct | 135 | 19 |
| 26 to 31 OctPartial week | 208 | 35 |
Base: Every apply click made by a person on RobotTraining.jobs, 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Oct 2026, grouped into ISO weeks that run Monday to Sunday in UTC.
A weekly total rises as RobotTraining.jobs's audience grows, not only when the market moves. The shares in the next figure are the better way to compare kinds of work over time.
Weeks that straddle the start or end of the month are labelled with only the days inside it, and flagged as partial.

| 19 to 25 Oct | 31% | 23% | 19% | 14% | 11% | 2% | 0% |
| 26 to 31 Oct | 48% | 19% | 7% | 13% | 3% | 9% | 0% |
Base: Apply clicks aimed at one particular role, 1 Oct 2026 to 31 Oct 2026, per ISO week. Every row totals 100% after rounding.
The columns show the six kinds of work that drew the most clicks across the full period.
A row with under 25.4 clicks carries a small-sample mark and is left unranked: under that count, the average across all rows says more than the row's own clicks do (a weight fitted on the counts themselves).

How it was measured
Apply clicks recorded on RobotTraining.jobs, matched to the role behind each click and to how many days that role stayed open. A single database query produces each figure for the window shown, and the live page and every monthly edition run that identical query. The note under each figure gives its base.
- Apply click
- A press of an apply button on RobotTraining.jobs that takes the visitor to the employer's application page. Bot traffic is filtered out at the moment it is logged, so only human clicks remain. Each click counts, even when one person makes several.
- Role-level click
- An apply click tied to a single role. A click on an employer's or program's general sign-up link belongs to the employer as a whole, so it has no kind of work, pay or listing age.
- Open role-days
- Add up, role by role, how many days of the window each was listed. One role that stays up for an entire 28-day window contributes 28.
- Weekly clicks per open role
- Role-level apply clicks over open role-days, multiplied by 7.
- Demand index
- A group's weekly clicks per open role over the same rate for all open roles combined. Above 1, that group's roles attract more applicant interest than a typical role.
- Kind of work
- A role's title and description place it in one of the seven kinds of robot training work this site follows, ranging from robot teleoperation and demonstration collection through egocentric capture, embodied-AI annotation, robot evaluation and fleet operations to AV and drone operation. Each kind has a page of its own.
- Listing date
- The posting date the employer's job board shows, or, failing that, the first day the role turned up in the feed. A role that came in with an employer's back catalogue and carries no date has no known listing date.
- Location rule
- Taken from the location text of each listing or, when that text names no country, from what the listing's own description says: worldwide, worldwide with named exceptions, named countries only, or no rule given.
- Window
- Live page: the 28 most recent full days (UTC). Edition: a single calendar month (UTC).
Limits of this data
- These clicks show what RobotTraining.jobs visitors want, which is not the same as the whole market.
- Placement drives clicks. By default the feed lifts the roles that already draw the most applications for the attention they get, along with roles at partner programs, and it puts the roles open in each visitor's country at the top.
- A click opens the application. Nobody here can see whether it was finished, accepted or led to a job.
- The counts are clicks, not people: one visitor may click many roles.
Collection and classification of listings are explained on the methodology page. Freshness, completeness and consistency are tested daily in the data quality report.
Monthly editions
The live page spans the 28 most recent full days and updates daily. Every finished month also gets its own edition, locked two days after month end, so a number quoted from it stays fixed.
- Live page28 most recent full days, rebuilt daily
- October 2026 edition (you are here)Will lock when the next daily refresh runs
