What the data shows

  1. 1

Applicants from any country could go for 0.3% of the 1,150 roles live on 31 Oct 2026. Another 99.7% took only listed countries, and 0.0% shut out certain countries.

    Figure 2
  2. 2

Most people trying to apply were in the United States (111 people). The crowding differed widely: Pakistan had 12.67 people per open role it could apply to (38 people, 3 roles), against 0.16 in the United States.

    Figure 3
  3. 3

What people apply for differs by country: in Brazil, 17 of the 35 people who clicked apply went for egocentric & wearable capture, against 1 of 10 in Nigeria.

    Figure 4
  4. 4

The widest choice of open roles went to residents of the United States (700), Germany (78) and the United Kingdom (72). Someone living in a country that no posting mentions could still go for the 3 worldwide roles.

    Figure 2
  5. 5

The United States appeared on the list of 60.8% of country-restricted roles, and 94.9% of restricted roles took applicants from one country only.

Base: 1,150 roles still open as 31 Oct 2026 closed.

Location rules come from each posting's location text, then from its own description when that text names no country. When a posting says nothing either way, the employer's own statement about where it hires is used.

A row with under 138.9 open roles carries a small-sample mark and is left unranked: under that count, the average across all rows says more than the row's own open roles do (a weight fitted on the counts themselves).

Base: 1,150 roles still open as 31 Oct 2026 closed. Shown: the top 40 of the 99 countries that at least one posting names.

Each country's total adds three groups: worldwide roles (counting roles that give no rule, which the job board also treats as open to everyone), roles whose include list has it, and roles whose exclusion list leaves it out.

Median pay uses the priced roles open to that country, and needs 3 or more of them.

People are distinct visitors whose visit came from that country (not their nationality), with automated traffic left out. Each counts once in the window.

A country is shown on its own from 10 people; the others are summed. Visitors see the roles open to their own country first, which steers where they apply.

Open roles they can apply to uses the same rule as the job board: roles open worldwide, roles that list the country, and roles that exclude other countries only.

Each cell counts the people from that country who clicked apply on at least one role of that kind of work. A person who applied to two kinds counts in both, and a click on an employer's own button names no kind, so a row's cells need not add up to its people.

The 4 kinds of work these countries' people applied for most are shown; the countries are those listed above (10 people or more).

Buy the data behind this report

This report sums up records we gather ourselves, day after day:

  • 1,432 robot training roles followed, history included

Every role on 100 employer job boards, read each day since 12 Sep 2026: its pay, its place, and the first and last day it was up.

  • 536 apply clicks over 28 days

Which robot training roles people really apply to, by kind of work, pay and place. The clicks happen here, so no one else can count them.

  • 25 sourced industry datasets

Funding, revenue, deals, fleets, deployments and prices across the robot training industry, each record linked to the publication it comes from.

On offer

  • The raw records

Every robot training role we track: title, employer, place, kind of work, pay as stated, and the days it was first and last open.

  • A regular feed

New and closed roles every week or month, as file drops or through the data endpoints.

  • A custom cut

Any figure here by country, city, kind of work, vehicle, employer or date, or your own hiring benchmarked against the market.

Need the people behind this data for your own robots? (you contract them yourself) or (we deliver the robot data).

How it was measured

Every day this site reads the public job boards of the robot training employers and programs it follows. A single database query produces each figure for the window shown, and the live page and every monthly edition run that identical query. The note under each figure gives its base.

Location rule
Taken from the location text of each listing or, when that text names no country, from what the listing's own description says: worldwide, worldwide with named exceptions, named countries only, or no rule given.
Open to a country
Residents of a country can apply when the role is worldwide, when its country list includes them, or when its exclusion list leaves them out. A role that gives no rule restricts nobody, so it counts as open to every country, as it does on the job board.
Open role
On a given day, a role that has been posted and still shows in the employer's feed.
Advertised pay
The hourly rate a listing gives, using the midpoint when it gives a range. A median appears only when 3 or more roles state a rate, and the middle half spans the 25th to the 75th percentile.
Kind of work
A role's title and description place it in one of the seven kinds of robot training work this site follows, ranging from robot teleoperation and demonstration collection through egocentric capture, embodied-AI annotation, robot evaluation and fleet operations to AV and drone operation. Each kind has a page of its own.
Window
Live page: the 28 most recent full days (UTC). Edition: a single calendar month (UTC).

Limits of this data

  • Hiring that happens off public job boards is invisible here, and some data-collection programs sign people up inside an app instead of posting a job.
  • A posting does not equal a hire. Certain employers leave evergreen roles up for months, and others post the same role once per city or country.
  • A location rule says where an employer accepts applicants; most robot training work is also tied to a site, and tax, payment and work-permit rules still apply.

Collection and classification of listings are explained on the methodology page. Freshness, completeness and consistency are tested daily in the data quality report.

Monthly editions

The live page spans the 28 most recent full days and updates daily. Every finished month also gets its own edition, locked two days after month end, so a number quoted from it stays fixed.
