What the data shows
- 1
For jobs open to US residents, Data & Demonstration Collection shows the largest gap within one kind of work: the median at Alignerr is $80 an hour against $22 at Collaborative Robotics (3.64 times as much).
- 2
In the middle kind of work for US-open jobs, the top-paying employer's median is 1.57 times the lowest-paying one's (across 4 kinds compared).
- 3
Counting jobs in every country, Egocentric & Wearable Capture has the largest gap: a median of $105 an hour at RemoExperts against $10 at Claru (10.5 times), which may partly reflect where each of them hires.
- 4
Over jobs in every country, the top-paying employer's median runs 2.62 times the lowest-paying one's in the middle kind of work (the median over 4 kinds of work where at least two employers can be compared).
- 5
Alignerr posts the top median rate in 1 kind of work (Data & Demonstration Collection).

Base: 256 jobs a US resident may apply for still open when 25 Oct 2026 ended and giving an hourly rate. An employer's median appears only where 3 or more of its jobs in that row give one; otherwise n/a.
Advertised pay is the hourly amount written in the posting, or the midpoint when it gives a range. What a person ends up earning can differ with shift premiums, the hours actually offered, and recordings or sessions that are not accepted.
The 10 employer columns are the employers with the most medians shown in this table; "All employers" pools the priced jobs of every employer in the row.
Limited to jobs a person living in the United States can apply for (worldwide jobs, jobs that list the US, and jobs that do not rule it out), so an employer that recruits mainly where wages are lower is measured on equal terms.

Employer rates by professional field
When a job title names a profession, what hourly rate does each employer post for it?
| Professional field | All employers | Aurora Innovation | Stack AV | Tesla | Highest over lowest |

| Business and management | $35 | $35 | $35 | $35 | 1.00x |
Base: Jobs with a profession in the title still open when 25 Oct 2026 ended and giving an hourly rate. An employer's median appears only where 3 or more of its jobs in that row give one; otherwise n/a.

Employer rates by language
When a job title calls for a language, what hourly rate does each employer post?

Figure 5
How far the rate for the same work moves between employers
Doing the same work, how big is the gap between the top-paying and the lowest-paying employer?
| Work | Highest | Lowest | Highest over lowest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Egocentric & Wearable Capture | RemoExperts $105 | Claru $10 | 10.50x |
| Data & Demonstration Collection | Alignerr $80 | Collaborative Robotics $22 | 3.64x |
| Robot Fleet Operations | Stack AV $35 | Serve Robotics $22 | 1.59x |
| AV & Drone Operators | Kodiak AI $37 | Transdev $24 | 1.54x |
| Business and management | Aurora Innovation $35 | Tesla $35 | 1.00x |
Base: Every group where two or more employers each had 3+ open jobs giving an hourly rate on 25 Oct 2026.
The gap sets employer medians side by side, not single jobs, and one employer's own rates can range widely for identical work.
Over all countries, the gap can also mirror where each employer recruits, since an employer may set a different rate in each country; the US-resident rate card takes that out.

Buy the data behind this report
This report sums up records we gather ourselves, day after day:
1,317 robot training roles followed, history included
Every role on 85 employer job boards, read each day since 12 Sep 2026: its pay, its place, and the first and last day it was up.
451 apply clicks over 28 days
Which robot training roles people really apply to, by kind of work, pay and place. The clicks happen here, so no one else can count them.
19 sourced industry datasets
Funding, revenue, deals, fleets, deployments and prices across the robot training industry, each record linked to the publication it comes from.
On offer
The raw records
Every robot training role we track: title, employer, place, kind of work, pay as stated, and the days it was first and last open.
A regular feed
New and closed roles every week or month, as file drops or through the data endpoints.
A custom cut
Any figure here by country, city, kind of work, vehicle, employer or date, or your own hiring benchmarked against the market.

How it was measured
Every day this site reads the public job boards of the robot training employers and programs it follows. A single database query produces each figure for the window shown, and the live page and every monthly edition run that identical query. The note under each figure gives its base.
- Employer median
- Among an employer's open roles in one group that give an hourly rate, the middle one. It is shown only from 3 such roles, the same floor as every median on this site.
- US-open grid
- Many employers pay less where living costs are lower, so a second grid keeps only the jobs a US resident may apply to and compares employers on that common ground.
- Top over bottom
- Within a group, the best-paying employer's median divided by the lowest-paying one's, counting only employers with a median shown.
- Advertised pay
- The hourly rate a listing gives, using the midpoint when it gives a range. A median appears only when 3 or more roles state a rate, and the middle half spans the 25th to the 75th percentile.
- Kind of work
- A role's title and description place it in one of the seven kinds of robot training work this site follows, ranging from robot teleoperation and demonstration collection through egocentric capture, embodied-AI annotation, robot evaluation and fleet operations to AV and drone operation. Each kind has a page of its own.
- Location rule
- Taken from the location text of each listing or, when that text names no country, from what the listing's own description says: worldwide, worldwide with named exceptions, named countries only, or no rule given.
- Window
- Live page: the 28 most recent full days (UTC). Edition: a single calendar month (UTC).
Limits of this data
- Hiring that happens off public job boards is invisible here, and some data-collection programs sign people up inside an app instead of posting a job.
- A posting does not equal a hire. Certain employers leave evergreen roles up for months, and others post the same role once per city or country.
- These are posted rates. Shift premiums, overtime and bonuses can change what a worker actually takes home.
- One employer's roles in a group can still differ from another's in seniority, shift or licence, which a median does not separate.
Collection and classification of listings are explained on the methodology page. Freshness, completeness and consistency are tested daily in the data quality report.
Monthly editions
The live page spans the 28 most recent full days and updates daily. Every finished month also gets its own edition, locked two days after month end, so a number quoted from it stays fixed.
- Live page (you are here)28 most recent full days, rebuilt daily
