Is Moove a good place to work?

No. Moove hires its robotaxi fleet staff directly and pays their health premiums, but they rate it 2.5/5 on Glassdoor (39% would recommend), citing heat, micromanagement and 24/7 shifts, and its drivers have protested its car deals. Depot work is physical, outdoors and around the clock: reviewers describe midday heat on asphalt among charging cars with little shade or rest, being watched on breaks, working every holiday, and high turnover.

Who is behind it

Moove was founded in Lagos in 2020 by Ladi Delano (co-CEO) and Jide Odunsi to finance cars for ride-hail drivers, repaid from their earnings. Based in Dubai, it calls itself Uber's biggest fleet partner; Uber led a $100 million round in 2024. Waymo hired it in December 2024 to run fleets, depots and charging in Phoenix and Miami, later Las Vegas, with London next. In August 2026 it raised $250 million at a $2.1 billion valuation; it has 3,300 staff.

Getting paid

Moove employs its fleet staff itself. US fleet postings list employer-paid individual health, dental and vision premiums, a 401(k) with match and paid time off. Dubai remote operators rotate 24/7 shifts; Singapore safety drivers work a fixed 40-hour week. We found no salary reports from Moove fleet staff.

Who can join

On-site, by posting: Phoenix, Miami and Las Vegas (United States), Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Singapore.

What people praise

  • Glassdoor reviewers list decent pay and paid health care among the pros, and some mention a choice of several shift schedules.
  • A recent Glassdoor reviewer called Moove an OK place for someone who wants growth: the pace is demanding, but there is room to make a visible impact and help shape systems in a new industry.
  • Training is part of the job: Singapore safety drivers are sent abroad for 4 to 8 weeks of autonomous vehicle training and certification, and strong drivers can move up to safety instructor.

What people complain about

  • Glassdoor reviewers (2026) describe long outdoor shifts in heat often above 100°F on asphalt among charging cars with little shade; a September 2026 reviewer says regular breaks in the sun are not given.
  • An autonomous vehicle operator (Glassdoor, February 2026, 2 stars) cited micromanaging, being followed on breaks, being expected not to talk to coworkers, and working every holiday in all weather.
  • A May 2026 reviewer (1 star) called upper leadership domineering and the workplace hostile; others cite high turnover, high quotas, pay low for the area and no paid time off until after 90 days.
  • Phoenix fleet deployment staff clean cars inside and out (biohazards included), plug in chargers, move cars, lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods outdoors on a 24/7/365 schedule, with drug tests.

What has gone wrong

  • November 2022. Moove let go an undisclosed number of staff in its Nigeria offices in November 2022 without notice, Techpoint Africa reported. Moove called them dismissals for performance and misconduct. Those let go reportedly got three months' base pay and had to sign NDAs and waivers of future legal claims.
  • March 2023. Drivers paying off Moove cars struck in Lagos in February 2023 over higher daily payments and impounded cars (Moove said they missed new targets), and staged a drive-slow on Johannesburg's M1 in March 2023 over their drive-to-own contracts, which Moove called a misunderstanding.
  • April 2024. Rest of World reported that Moove impounded an Indian driver's two cars after he missed payments during a 12-day break; he said about 200,000 rupees he had paid was not refunded. Moove said such cases affect under 5% of its Indian customers, who get up to eight weeks to catch up.
  • September 2025. A Lagos ride-hail drivers' union (AUATON) threatened an indefinite strike, saying Moove doubled the daily drive-to-own payment from N9,400 to N18,700 without consultation and that its drivers pay 33.33% commission against 25% for others. We could not read whether the strike went ahead.
Who it suits

Best for: Drivers with a clean record in Phoenix, Miami, Las Vegas, Dubai or Singapore who want a direct, benefited job inside a robotaxi fleet and can handle heat, cleaning, lifting, and nights, weekends and holidays. Not for: Anyone who needs fixed weekdays off, struggles in heat, dislikes close monitoring, or wants Waymo itself as the employer: Moove staff work on Waymo's cars but Moove employs and manages them.
