Is EgoVista legit?
Mostly. EgoVista is a registered Paris company with named founders, free sign-up and detailed, worker-friendly terms, but we found no contributor reporting a payout yet, and its missions open only as it wins robotics clients. The main risk is waiting for work that may not come: anyone can sign up, but missions open country by country as EgoVista closes client deals, and applicants outside Europe were told in August 2026 to wait for an email.
EgoVista, reviewed
Researched October 2026 · 11 sourcesIt pays €6–€20/hr of usable footage, set per mission (stated by the employer).
Joined through its own application (it publishes no job postings)
EgoVista SAS is a Paris company (SIREN 106 489 735, 47 rue Vivienne) registered in June 2026; its egovista.app domain dates from April 2026. Its founders are Léonard Docquier (CEO), Howard Hao-Yu Hou (CTO) and Alessio Palma (chief scientist), and it is in NVIDIA's Inception startup program. It blurs faces in first-person video, annotates it and sells the datasets, and says it works with labs and robotics companies in France, Spain and Scandinavia.
Each mission states its rate before you join. EgoVista's own posts give €6 to €12 per hour of usable video (Wellfound, August 2026) and €8 to €20 (a cofounder on Reddit). Accepted footage is credited at once and never expires; past the minimum you request a payout, paid within 15 days of approval by SEPA transfer or Wise.
No public worker reviews yet (October 27, 2026): no Trustpilot page and no app, and on Reddit only applicants waiting for a mission. Its supplier list of September 11, 2026 says contributor payments have been made.
Signup open worldwide wherever EgoVista has a payment route; missions are shown by country of residence and open as it signs clients. Footage is stored and processed in the EU.
We found no documented scam using EgoVista's name as of October 27, 2026. Sign up only at egovista.app: joining is free, so anyone who asks you for money to join, to get a mission or to release earnings is not EgoVista, as the FTC warns.
What people praise
- Its contributor terms are unusually specific: a mission's rate is fixed when it opens, your balance never expires, a suspension does not freeze what you are owed, and a person must answer an appeal within 30 days.
- Joining is free, and a recent phone (on a head strap or chest harness), a GoPro or smart glasses will do; faces are blurred before any outside processing, and a rejected clip comes back with the reason.
- Your recordings stay yours: its legal notice says EgoVista holds only a non-exclusive licence over them, which does not transfer ownership.
What people complain about
- Applicants outside Europe were told to register and wait: on August 30, 2026 a cofounder said missions open once deals with robotics companies close, and people in Kenya and the Philippines posted that they were waiting.
- Its site publishes no rate: you see a mission's rate only once signed in, and footage that fails its quality check, usually done within seven days, earns nothing.
- Payouts need a minimum shown only on the withdrawal page, and on requests under €20 the transfer fee comes out of your money, though it is shown before you confirm.
- Its payouts are new: its supplier list first recorded contributor payments in September 2026, when the Wise account for payouts outside the SEPA area opened, and PayPal is listed but not yet in use.
What has gone wrong
- August 2026. EgoVista's blog announced its first European missions on August 16, 2026, and the next day a Wellfound post offered €6 to €12 per hour of usable video. By August 30 a cofounder was telling applicants that missions would open once client deals closed, and on October 27 its contributor page still said it would email people when the first missions open.
Best for: Adults in Europe with a recent phone, GoPro or smart glasses who want occasional paid filming of home or trade tasks and can wait for a mission in their country. Not for: Anyone who needs paid work now, especially outside Europe, or who wants a fixed published rate and other contributors' accounts of being paid.
Honest catches
- Pay here is stated by the employer, not measured live from a job feed, so treat it as a benchmark rather than a guaranteed rate.
