About the role

HireArt is helping our client find detail-oriented and proactive Triage Operator & SW Development to investigate autonomous vehicle issues across on-road and simulation environments and contribute bug fixes to a production C++ autonomy codebase.

In this role, you’ll combine technical triage with hands-on software development, analyzing vehicle and simulation data to identify root causes, trace issues through the autonomy stack, and implement targeted C++ fixes. The ideal candidate has autonomous vehicle triage experience, strong C++ development skills, and the ability to analyze complex logs, sensor data, and simulation outputs.

You’re a methodical problem solver who can independently investigate issues while collaborating effectively across operations and engineering teams. As a Triage Operator & SW Development, you'll: Analyze complex on-road and simulation data, including logs, video, sensor data, and metadata, to identify, categorize, and prioritize autonomous vehicle issues.

Correlate on-road issues with simulation scenarios to support reproduction, regression testing, and improved coverage while distinguishing between simulation tooling and autonomous vehicle stack issues. Investigate root causes by navigating a large C++ autonomy codebase and tracing issues through relevant modules, including perception, planning, and controls.

Develop targeted C++ bug fixes and submit pull requests to the autonomy repository in accordance with established development, contribution, and code review standards. Participate in code reviews, incorporating and providing technical feedback to maintain code quality and system stability.

Partner with Vehicle Operations, Simulation Operations, and engineering teams across perception, planning, controls, and infrastructure to understand, prioritize, route, and resolve issues.
